POSTPONED "The Liberator" South African Wine Tasting with Richard Kelley (MW)

Apologies; unfortunately we have had to regrettably postpone this event until a new date comes up in the New Year, refunds will be available to all those who have bought tickets

On the 8th of November, Richard Kelley will be hosting an evening of South African wines.

Richard has created a series of wines that hail from the far reaching corners of the "Cape", many of which are of unique stature not normally associated with South Africa at all
"The Liberator" wines are a Rick's selection of finds from some of the most respected producers that may only experiment with lesser known varietals or simply form part of a blend to a final wine, thus never deemed to be commercially available; Rick is on a mission to Liberate these rare finds. In the majority they and only a single vintage and of very limited release; once they're, they're gone!
Each wine always has its own story to tell, this comes in the form of an Episode, a tale of its untimely existence in the form of a comic strip; see an example here for one particular wine we stock already; Liberator Episode 10

We have the privilege of tasting some of his latest releases in the series.

Richard Kelley holds a qualification of the highest form within the wine world, one of the toughest tests that exist, The Master of Wine where only 369 exist throughout the world. Richard gained this accolade in July 1995 after learning his trade in some top wineries in South Africa, and whilst his experience is second to none regarding wines from this region he also specialises in wines from the Loire Valley, of which we are proud to have many adorning our shelves.

Tickets for this evening are £35 which will include an array of tapas style dishes & platters. These must be paid for in advance, only 16 places remain
arrival by 7pm for 7.30 start. We hope to see you here!

SOLD OUT - Meet The Wine Maker Evening; El Coto Rioja

Save the date; Thursday 21st September from 7pm (7.30 start)
This event has now SOLD OUT.

A wine tasting evening hosted by the wine maker, Sergio Soriano, the export manager for El Coto de Rioja.

A selection of food will be provided to go along with 8 different wines; Sergio will be showcasing El Coto's Rosé, White Rioja, Crianza, Reserva & Gran Reserva along with 2 more reds from their vineyards in Cigales.

But don't dally as we're only selling 20 tickets for this event & some are already gone!

We hope you can make this; our first of what we hope to be a series of similar evenings involving wine makers and representatives of the wineries from around the world, giving a first hand insight of the range of fabulous wines we have on our shelves.

3 Months In After The Big Move...

...and what a roller coaster it has been!

It was the first week in May that we finally opened our doors in a stunning new venue. Huge thanks go to all the tradesmen who helped put our bar and shop together, our suppliers old and new (yes, that means lots of new stock; our range is now nearly 150 wines strong!) along with the support from friends, family and customers old and new.

So where to begin??

We have a great new kitchen, for those who remembered our past venue and the cramped little corridor that we created such a spread from out of; well we now have a superb upgrade meaning we have also extended our menu, (our famous Gambas Pil Pil still appear amongst new dishes like Boquerones Crostini, Pitta Pizza, Pitta & Dips, Creamy Garlic & Blue Cheese Mushrooms) along with our capacity. We therefore still offer our great wine & tapas evenings whilst also having the having room for you to wine and dine at your leisure.

We have upgraded our by the glass offering, not only do we have a fabulous selection of wines to choose off our menu, but we have also installed (thanks to a successful Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign) a sparkly new Wine By The Glass machine, which enables us to offer you a taste some of the more exclusive wines in our range and will be updated regularly. As of next week we will be putting a selection of award winning wines, trophy winners from some of the top international wine competitions such as DWWA (Decanter World Wine Awards), IWC (International Wine Challenge) & SWA (Sommelier Wine Awards)

We have staff! Now were in the hub of bustling Longridge and capacity to entertain many more of you, we have been recruiting to make sure our service doesn't falter, and so please meet Joy; our full time manager, her daughter Daisy along with Katie who you will see on Fridays.

What else...

-We have Estrella Galicia Spanish lager on draft
-Midweek lunch specials
-A popular Gin selection
-Look out for Live Music and Open Mic evenings (note to diary; first open mic event 2nd Sunday in September)
-Meet the Winemaker evenings (note to diary; Sergio from El Coto de Imaz, Rioja will be joining us on Thursday 21st September, only 20 tickets will be available, wine tasting with food match)
-Matilda and now her pup Daisy are usually in residence (our adorable Frenchies!)
-Oh and we now have our own bathroom facilities! (visitors to our previous location will know what we mean; especially those who frequented us in the winter!!)

Phew, plenty of reason to come in and say hello over a glass or 2, we'd love to see you again.
Cheers from Andrea, Ben and the team!

We're #CrowdFunding & We Need Your Help!

As I'm sure most will be now aware, we have found what we think could be our perfect new venue and we're getting close to completion.

We will be maintaining what you have all become accustomed to as far as we can so we will still be doing our renowned Wine & Tapas evenings, I will still be making the incredible Prawn Pil Pil, and both of us will still be behind the bar to help you choose your perfect wine and make friends!

But, of course we want to up our game! We have invested a lot into the premises and have stretched ourselves to create a wonderful ambiance, but something that has been a passion of my own along with suggestions from others is to install a "Wine by the Glass machine"

How they work is simple, we give you a card which can be pre-loaded with credit, of which the machine will scan in exchange for a measures of of your choice from a shot to a glass of any of the wines available. We are aiming to have 8 wines in the machine, 4 Red & 4 White/Rosé at any one time, which we will rotate on a regular basis to constantly let you try new things. Otherwise to its ideal serving temperature control; the secret is its ability to maintain a wine's freshness for up to a month, therefore almost eliminating wastage especially for such premium or lesser known wines that would otherwise be disposed of (or otherwise consumed by us...have we thought this through properly??)

Of course, as you might imagine, these things are frighteningly expensive and quite out of our personal reach, which is where you can help!

We have created a Crowd Funding campaign, where simply you can help us reach our goal to pay for a machine by pledging money to us of of which we will "reward" you in the future. For example if you pledge £200, we will gift you one of our Wine & Tapas evenings for you and 5 friends. You would basically be paying upfront for the event which allows us to raise immediate capital...make sense? I hope so and I hope you might dig deep, as this will benefit you guys too, we want this machine for you!

5 Stars & Summer Sounds at Stydd

5 Star

Yesterday was a precious moment in the building of Fullaloves Wines. As our tapas offering has grown from very simple beginnings of olives and nuts, to now a modest but authentic style of tapas delights to accompany your wine. In celebration we have been awarded a 5 Star rating! We're very thankful to our local food safety inspection officer (won't mention names but I'm sure she and others locally will know who I mean!) for her support over the years.

In the same week; both The Café at Stydd and Rosie Duck also; we're awarded the same accolade, this is just the epitomy of the efforts of everyone at Stydd Gardens to make your experience here the best it can be!

Summer Sounds at Stydd
