For our chosen wine this month we have followed the very abrupt shift in season; wind and rain brings us to Autumn...and game season! So to accompany our roasted partridge, pheasant pie, hot pots and stews you can cosy up to our "Vallon du Chene", from the region of Costieres de Nimes, France. Adjoining the south west edge of Cotes du Rhone, the region and many of the wines share very similar characteristics. Its a blend of Syrah (Shiraz) with a mouth-filling boost from a little Mourvedre, so expect Raspberries, Blackberries & a sliver of toastiness with a nice length coming from the ripe tannin.You can pick up a bottle for £9.25 (with the normal corkage applied for drinking in) or at £4 for a glass.
